Use a consistent completion step

Choose a clear point in your job-completion process for inviting feedback. The customer should have experienced the work and be able to describe it. Apply the same eligibility rules consistently; do not decide who gets the link by whether you expect a positive rating. Record that the invitation was sent so the process does not produce duplicate requests.

Make the invitation optional

Ask for an account of the customer’s experience, without prescribing a rating or wording. Google prohibits incentives and selectively asking for positive reviews. A private satisfaction question must not control who gets the public review link. Google’s review-content policy describes those restrictions.

An in-person invitation

At the end of the job, you could say: “If you would like to share your experience, our Google review link is on the receipt. Either way, thank you for the business.” Give the customer space to decide. Avoid asking them to write the review while you watch or telling them which services or staff names to mention.

An illustrative written invitation

“Thank you for choosing our business for the job. If you would like to share your experience, you can leave a Google review using the link below. Either way, thank you for the business.” Use the real business name and direct review link. For text delivery, confirm the appropriate consent and opt-out process; the wording alone does not authorize a send.

Use the profile’s review link

Google provides a review link or QR code you can share. Test that it opens the right business, including on a phone. The customer needs a Google Account to post a review. Google’s review-request guidance explains those options. A website feedback form is a different destination, so do not label it as the Google review link.

Respond to the work, not the expected rating

If a customer replies with a concern, address the service issue through the business’s normal process. Do not offer a discount for removing a review or route only dissatisfied customers away from Google. Public replies should be factual and protect customer privacy. Asking for reviews and managing public responses are different responsibilities.

Automation needs a completion record

The Airlocked Solutions follow-up service sends one request when the contractor marks a job complete, with no reminders or satisfaction screening. The business supplies the completion information and answers replies. For text delivery, review the messaging provider’s consent and opt-out rules before activation. The existing review guide explains the role of feedback; GBP Management covers public responses. No number of reviews is promised.
